Advisory Committee
On May 2, 1979, the Advisory Committee for the Department on Aging was formed. The intent and objectives of the Advisory Committee, recognizing the needs of Bay County's 60 year and better residents to receive the highest priority in the areas of nutrition, health maintenance, and the preservation of dignity.
An application process is required, reviewed and appointed by their County Commissioner in the district in which the applicant resides. The membership of the Committee is made up of Seven Districts, one person per District with and additional person At Large. Term limits are 2 years each. Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 are renewed one year and Districts 2, 4, 6, and At Large are renewed the opposite year. The Advisory Committee Members are a group who are valuable to the success of the Bay County Department on Aging and it’s Activity Centers. Their meetings are open to the public and held every other month in the Conference Room at the office of Bay County Department on Aging, Bay County Building, 515 Center Avenue, Second Floor, Bay City. Their opinions, suggestions and volunteering efforts are appreciated from the staff at the Department on Aging, along with the 60 year and better residents they represent in Bay County.
