The Bay County Civic Arena is a state-of-the-art facility offering two ice surfaces year-round. An Olympic-sized ice surface (100’ x 200’) and an NHL-sized ice surface (85’ x 200’) provide opportunities for hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and open skating. The facility also offers concessions and a community room that comfortably seats up to 40 people for birthday parties and other special events, such as wedding showers.
Working in partnership with the Bay County Hockey Association, the arena offers year-round hockey programming for youth of all ages. We are also home to two high school hockey teams, the Tri Valley Thunder and the Bay City Wolves. SK8 Bay Figure Skating Club offers lessons and advanced instruction. The Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs are also offered throughout the year. Mid-Michigan Hockey Development Program offers year-round advanced skill development and athletic training for hockey players of all ages.
Public Skating sessions are offered daily throughout the year, including noon skate, public skate, stick & puck, and drop-in hockey. We also offer services such as skate repair and sharpening.
The Bay County Civic Arena is generally open Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 11 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday, our hours vary. Note that these times may vary with special events and the season.
