2008 Senior County Touranment
Well...the 2008 Senior County Tournament proved to be a successful event again under the new format that was added last year. We had another good tournout of contestants and some good competition in each age group.
Just as our Men's tournament is divided into flights, our Senior tournament is divided into age groups. The groups consist of 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70-older. A champion is determined from each age group. However, we still have our traditional overall champion who wins a season membership for the following season. To ensure all age groups compete at a level playing field the 50-54 and the 55-59 age groups play from the blue tees. Ages 60-64 played from the white tees. While the 65-69 and the 70-older age groups play from the red tees.
With each age group battling each other our overall winner came from the 60-64 age group. This gentlemen was the defending champion as well. The following are our 2008 Senior County Champions:

Joe defended his crown of overall champion against a highly competitive field. Joe shot an incredible 31 on the front nine on Saturday to lap the field which allowed him to coast to his back to back victory! We can't wait to see what he does in 2009! Great Playing Joe!

Tim Horner is a familiar face at Bay County along with the other twenty-five Horners' that play golf. All joking aside Tim played a steady 36 holes and beat out Terry Horner by 2 strokes. We are impressed with Tim's play since he spent most of the summer on his Harley!Nice Playing Tim!

Tom is one of the best ball strikers you will ever play with. He hits the ball down the middle and on the green day in and day out. Tom is a 5 time County Champion (1974, 75, 77, 80, & 89). His game is a model of consistency that always gives him the opportunity to be there on Sunday.Tom defended his title by beating Mark Baranek by 5 strokes. Another County Championship for Tom!

Gary Kinsey accomplished his goal.....he beat out Gene Rhode (Six time Senior Champion) by 1 stroke. Tied with Gene going into the final round Gary held on and scraped his way in by edging out Mr. Rhode. We want to congratulate Gary on his performance and his infectious smile! Good going Gary!!

Fred is a staple out at the golf course. He plays all season long and a great guy to have at your course. He is a good farmer too!! Fred played a great tournament this year beating out defending champion Jack LeSage by 8 strokes. Fred had a chance to run for the overall title, but came up a little short. Great Playing!
