The Family Nutrition Program provides food and nutirition education to low income families. The program works in partnership with the Michigan Department of Human Services, and the United States Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service. In Bay County, FNP has built partnerships with local agencies and organizations including the Bay County Health Department; Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); the Mid-Michigan Community Action Agency; and local schools. Bay County residents should contact MSU Extension to schedule home or office visits, free of charge and at your convenience, to address healthy eating habits, food safety, and food expense bugeting skills.

Project FRESH
Project FRESH comes to Bay County every June, July, and August, providing participants with coupons to purchase fresh, Michigan-grown produce, and nutrition education from MSU Extension. Every year, Project FRESH provides nutritious foods for hundreds of homes, and boosts income to local farmers who sell fruit and vegetables at local markets. Those interested in participating in Project FRESH must be registered participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. For more information, contact the WIC office through the Bay County Health Department at (989) 895-4002.
