Unpaid delinquent property taxes can lead to foreclosure and loss of your property after three years.
Hardship extensions are designed to delay foreclosure deadlines by one year for owners who are actively working to catch up their delinquent property taxes.
Applications are reviewed for properties that are in forfeiture (delinquent for two years) up to six months prior to foreclosure.

Click here to print out the application and return documents via mail, drop box or in person to the Treasurer's office.
Contact our office if you have any questions or need assistance in filling out the application.
If an extension is granted, it's important to keep in mind that:
- Interest will continue to accrue
- If the successive tax year is owed, both years will have to be paid to avoid tax foreclosure in the next year
Please see the Property Tax Process page for more information on the timeline and process.
